Beedeln was first mentioned in 1325 as "Bedelin". The village is a Slavic round village , in which the inhabitants used to mainly do agriculture. But there were also small businesses such as shoemakers, blacksmiths, coal traders, restaurants and later also a machine and vehicle repair workshop. Regarding the manorial rule , Beedeln belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Rochlitz until 1856 as an official village . The offices were dissolved during the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony in the 19th century . As a result, Beedeln came under the administration of the Rochlitz court office in 1856 and in 1875 under the newly established Rochlitz administration . On April 30, 1936, the neighboring town of Bernsdorf was incorporated.

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the municipality of Beedeln with its district of Bernsdorf was incorporated into the Rochlitz district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). On July 1, 1965, Beedeln was incorporated into Kolkau . As a district of the municipality of Kolkau, Beedeln came to the Saxon district of Rochlitz in 1990 , which was merged in 1994 in the newly formed district of Mittweida and in 2008 in the district of Central Saxony. With the incorporation of the Kolkau community into Seelitz, Beedeln has been part of the Seelitz community since April 1, 1994. In 2002 "Beedle Heem" was closed, where painting exhibitions as well as blues and jazz concerts took place. In 2007 the road in the village was renewed.
