Seebitzschen was mentioned in 1283 as a manor with a "Reinhardus miles dictus de Deuzin" . The place name changed into "Deuszyn" (1288), "Seweschin" (1292), "Sewitschin" (1326) in "Sebitschen" (1548) until the 16th century. Regarding the manorial rule , Seebitzschen belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Rochlitz until 1856 as an official village . Ecclesiastically the place has always been parish after Seelitz. The offices were dissolved during the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony in the 19th century . As a result, Seebitzschen came under the administration of the Rochlitz court office in 1856 and in 1875 under the newly established Rochlitz administration . On April 1, 1935, the neighboring town of Zöllnitz to the north was incorporated.

The Seebitzschen community with its district of Zöllnitz was incorporated into Steudten on July 1, 1950 . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, Seebitzschen was incorporated into the district of Rochlitz in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ) as a district of Steudten , which was continued as the Saxon district of Rochlitz from 1990 and was newly formed in 1994 District Mittweida and in 2008 in the District Central Saxony. With the incorporation of the municipality of Steudten into Seelitz, Seebitzschen has been part of the greater municipality of Seelitz since January 1, 1994.
