Kolkau is a district of the municipality of Seelitz in the Saxon district of Central Saxony . The municipality of Kolkau with its districts of Beedeln and Bernsdorf was incorporated into Seelitz on April 1, 1994.

Kolkau is located in the south of the large community of Seelitz, west of the Erlbach , a tributary of the Zwickauer Mulde .

history

Kolkau was first mentioned in 1378 under the name "Kulkow prope Ozze" or "Kulkaw". With regard to the basic rule belonged to Kolkau located in Manor Kolkau which is covered from the 1551st Kolkau has always been parish church after Seelitz. Until 1856 Kolkau was part of the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Rochlitz . The offices were dissolved during the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony in the 19th century . As a result, Kolkau came under the administration of the Rochlitz court office in 1856 and in 1875 under the newly established Rochlitz administration .

Through the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the Kolkau community was incorporated into the Rochlitz district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). On July 1, 1965, the municipality of Beedeln was incorporated with its Bernsdorf district to Kolkau. In 1990 the municipality of Kolkau and its districts became part of the Saxon district of Rochlitz , which was merged in 1994 in the newly formed district of Mittweida and in 2008 in the district of Central Saxony. With the incorporation of the Kolkau community into Seelitz, Kolkau, Beedeln and Bernsdorf have been part of the greater community of Seelitz since April 1, 1994.
