Spernsdorf is a district of the community of Seelitz in the Saxon district of Central Saxony . The municipality of Spernsdorf with its districts Köttern and Zschaagwitz with Neuzschaagwitz was incorporated into Seelitz on April 1, 1993.

Spernsdorf is located in the north of the large community of Seelitz at the source of the Leitebach , which flows into the Zwickauer Mulde . The federal highway 175 leads south past Spernsdorf .

history

The square village of Spernsdorf was mentioned in 1378 as "Sperlingistorf". The council of Rochlitz exercised the manorial rule over the place around 1548 . From 1764 to 1856 the place was Amtsdorf in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Rochlitz . The church has always been parish to Zettlitz . The offices were dissolved during the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony in the 19th century . As a result, Spernsdorf came under the administration of the Rochlitz court office in 1856 and in 1875 under the newly established Rochlitz administration .

On July 1, 1950, Köttern and Zschaagwitz were incorporated with Neuzschaagwitz to Spernsdorf. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the municipality of Spernsdorf and its districts were incorporated into the Rochlitz district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Rochlitz in 1990 and in the newly formed district in 1994 Mittweida and 2008 in the district of Central Saxony. On April 1, 1993, Spernsdorf was incorporated with Köttern, Zschaagwitz and Neuzschaagwitz to Seelitz.
