Biesern was first mentioned in 1325 as "Weserym". The area was already settled in the early Middle Ages , as evidenced by the Bieserner Borstel , a Slavic ring wall south of Biesern. Regarding the manorial rule , Biesern belonged to the Zetteritz manor around 1548 , from 1590 until 1856 the place belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Rochlitz as an official village . Biesern has always been parish to Seelitz.

The offices were dissolved during the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony in the 19th century . As a result, Biesern came under the administration of the Rochlitz court office in 1856 and in 1875 to the newly established Rochlitz District Administration in the Leipzig District Administration . With the opening of the Penig - Rochlitz section , the Glauchau – Wurzen (Muldentalbahn) railway passed Biesern to the west. However, the place did not have its own station. Only the Biesern sand works received a loading point that was operated until 1977 .

On July 1, 1950, Biesern was incorporated into Steudten . With the dissolution of the states and the formation of the districts as well as the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the municipality of Steudten became part of the Rochlitz district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). In 1990 the district was continued as the Saxon district of Rochlitz and merged in 1994 in the newly formed district of Mittweida , which in turn became part of the district of central Saxony in 2008. With the incorporation of the municipality of Steudten into Seelitz, Biesern has been part of the greater municipality of Seelitz since January 1st, 1994.
