IC 3019 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E1 in the constellation Coma Berenices the northern sky . It is around 74 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 30,000 light years. The galaxy is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 9 .
The galaxies IC 3017 , IC 3018 , IC 3020 , IC 3023 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
