IC 3037 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sab in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 428 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years across. It is listed as a member of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster under catalog number VCC 51 , but is too far away for that.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4178 , IC 3025 , IC 3043 , IC 3069 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
