IC 3047 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 358 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4168 , NGC 4193 , IC 3041 , IC 3046 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
