IC 3047 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 358 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4168 , NGC 4193 , IC 3041 , IC 3046 .

The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
