IC 3033 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBd in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 9 million light years from the Milky Way and about> 5,000 light years in diameter. It is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 34 .
The galaxies NGC 4165 , IC 3018 , IC 3029 , IC 3031 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on May 7, 1904 by the American astronomer Royal Harwood Frost .
