IC 3015 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sbc with extensive star formation areas in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 83 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is considered a member of the IC 764 group ( LGG 271 ).
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on January 31, 1898 .
