IC 3004 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Scd in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 281 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies IC 2994 , IC 3008 , IC 3017 , IC 3018 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
