IC 2999 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Ursa Major at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 311 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4062 , IC 2992 , IC 3007 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 26, 1903 .
