IC 3010 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 81 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years in diameter. Together with four other galaxies, it forms the NGC 4105 group ( LGG 270 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4106 , IC 764 , IC 2996 , IC 3005 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on April 11, 1898 .
