Clara Burel (born March 24, 2001 in Rennes ) is a French tennis player .

Career

Burel started playing tennis at the age of six and lists the hard court as his favorite surface . So far she has played mainly on the ITF Juniors Tour and the ITF Women's Circuit , but has not yet won an ITF or WTA tournament.

For the individual competition , she received a wildcard for qualification at the French Open 2018 , where she was defeated by Barbora Krejčíková 2: 6 and 0: 6 in the first round . In doubles , she and her partner Diane Parry also received a wildcard for the main field, but were defeated there in their first game by Sara Errani and Kirsten Flipkens 4-6 and 2-6

In 2018 she lost to Liang En-shuo in the final of the junior singles of the Australian Open with 3: 6 and 4: 6. In September she lost 6: 7 ⁴ and 2: 6 to Wang Xiyu in the US Open junior singles . In the junior doubles she reached the round of 16 with her partner Diane Parry.

At the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games , she won the silver medal in the girls' singles and the bronze medal in mixed with her partner Hugo Gaston .

Burel received a wildcard for the women's singles of the Australian Open 2019 . She lost to the Spaniard Carla Suárez Navarro in the first round .
