Hugo Gaston (born September 26, 2000 in Toulouse ) is a French tennis player .

Career

Hugo Gaston mainly plays on the ITF Junior Tour, on which he is eligible to play until the end of 2018. There he has played every junior Grand Slam tournament since the 2017 French Open . His best result was winning the Australian Open 2018 with his partner Clément Tabur in doubles. He also won the Orange Bowl in 2017 , the most important junior tournament alongside the Grand Slams. He is currently fourth in the world rankings; in January 2018 he was already third.

So far , he has played a few professional tournaments on the third-class ITF Future Tour , where he has reached a quarter-finals once, and was able to reach 1191th place in the world rankings . Gaston made his debut on the ATP World Tour in February 2018 in Montpellier , where the organizers awarded him a wildcard in doubles. There he lost with Benjamin Bonzi , just like a month later when he also received a wildcard in the singles in Marseille and was defeated by Stefano Travaglia , against Jérémy Chardy and Fabrice Martin in straight sets.
