IC 3002 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Canes Venatici on the northern sky . It is estimated to be 366 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years across.
The galaxies NGC 4113 , IC 2993 , IC 3001 , IC 3003 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on June 12, 1896 .
