IC 3061 is an active bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 101 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 65,000 ly. It is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 131 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4208 , IC 3058 , IC 3080 , IC 3091 .
The object was discovered by Arnold Schwassmann on November 22nd, 1900 .
