Patrice Simon

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Patrice Simon (born December 15, 1969 ) is a French chemist ( electrochemistry , nanoscience).

Simon received his PhD in 1995 from the École nationale supérieure de Chimie in Toulouse. Afterwards he was assistant professor at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris and from 2001 professor of materials science at the University of Toulouse (Paul Sabatier), where he works at the CIRIMAT laboratory.

He is concerned with nanostructured materials for applications in the storage of electrochemical energy such as supercapacitors .

From 2007 to 2012 he was a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France . In 2012 he received an ERC Advanced Grant for research on ion transport in carbon nanopores (IONACES project).

He is one of the highly cited scientists ( Clarivate Citation Laureates 2018). In 2019 Simon was elected to the Academia Europaea .
