IC 3080 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is an estimated 338 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 60,000 ly. It is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under the catalog name VCC 176 , but is too far away for that.
The galaxies IC 3061 , IC 3077 , IC 3091 , IC 3093 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
