The Ebensfelder Brauhaus (also Schwanenbräu ) is a beer brewery in Markt Ebensfeld in Upper Franconia in the Lichtenfels district . The brewery has an annual production of 6000 hectoliters.

history

Brewery

On August 16, 1752, the Bamberg bishop Johann Philipp von Gebsattel granted Nikolaus Pabstmann the “hospitality and shield justice” for a “house, brewery, stable and riding school”. After several changes of ownership, Michael Rittmaier zu Strullendorf acquired the property in 1864. The brewery has been family-owned ever since .

In 1867 a 60 m deep sandstone vault was built to store beer, the so-called "Engelhardts-Keller". The brewery was renewed in 1928, the beer cellar and the cooling system in 1932 and 1933. In 1939 the malt house followed, in 1960 the brewhouse and a fermentation and storage cellar. The brewery was relocated to its current location in 1961.

Products

The product range includes the beer types Fränkisches Landbier , Adam Riese Urtrunk , Pilsener , Schwanen Weisse , Festbier and Schwanador . Each bottle is filled in crown cork bottles .

Beer fountain

A special feature is the publicly accessible fountain that was built in front of the “Zum Schwan” inn in 2006 and from which beer can be “tapped” instead of the usual water.
