history

The round village of Stöbnig was mentioned in 1325 as "Stobenick". Regarding the manorial rule Stöbnig belonged in 1548 proportionally to the parish of Rochlitz, the council of Rochlitz, the monastery of Geringswalde and as an official village to the office of Rochlitz . After 1764 to 1856, the place was completely under the authority of the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Rochlitz. Ecclesiastically, the place has always been parish to Seelitz . The offices were dissolved during the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony in the 19th century . As a result, Stöbnig came under the administration of the Rochlitz court office in 1856 and in 1875 under the newly established Rochlitz administration .

On July 1, 1950, it was incorporated into Penna . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, Stöbnig was affiliated as a district of Penna to the Rochlitz district in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Rochlitz from 1990 and in 1994 in the newly formed district Mittweida and rose in 2008 in the district of central Saxony. With the incorporation of Penna to Rochlitz, Stöbnig also became a district of Rochlitz on January 1, 1994.
