Zschoppelshain is a district of the municipality of Wechselburg in the Saxon district of Central Saxony . When the municipality of Zschoppelshain was incorporated into Wechselburg on January 1, 1994, the previous district of Winkeln was reclassified to Seelitz .

Zschoppelshain is the easternmost part of the municipality of Wechselburg and also the only part to the east of the federal highway 107 . The Zschoppelshainer Bach flowing through the village drains over the Erlbach into the Zwickauer Mulde .

The forest hoof village Zschoppelshain was mentioned in 1372 as Zschoppoldishain . The place was probably created around 1170. As early as 1386 in a Vorwerk , whose owners Messrs of Milkau that and were of Schneidau Schindler. With the incorporation of Zschoppelshain to Wechselburg , Winkeln was reclassified to Seelitz on January 1, 1994. Both places were incorporated into the newly formed Mittweida district in 1994, which was added to the central Saxony district in 2008.
