history

Farm in Carsdorf

Carsdorf, located five kilometers northwest of Wechselburg, was mentioned in 1378 as Karlstorf or Karlisdorf . The square village is probably a Slavic foundation, as the shape of the corridor suggests. Carsdorf belonged as an official village to the electoral or royal Saxon office of Rochlitz until 1856 . From 1856 Carsdorf belonged to the Rochlitz court office and from 1875 to the Rochlitz administration .

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, Carsdorf was incorporated into the Rochlitz district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). On June 20, 1957, it was incorporated into Mutzscheroda .

The community Mutzscheroda with Carsdorf belonged from 1990 to the Saxon district of Rochlitz , which became in 1994 in the district Mittweida and in 2008 in the district central Saxony. On January 1, 1994, it merged with Wechselburg, Göhren and Nöbeln to form the new municipality of Wechselburg, which made Mutzscheroda and Carsdorf districts of Wechselburg.
