The Narsdorf Station is an operating agency of Neukieritzsch-Chemnitz railway and decommissioned in 2002 rochlitz-penig railway .

location

Narsdorf train station is on the corridor border between the Geithain districts of Narsdorf and Dölitzsch in the south of the Saxon district of Leipzig .

history

Newly designed Narsdorf stop

Initially a station was to be built on the Obergräfenhainer Flur, but the population prevented this. In Narsdorf, too, there was a rather negative attitude towards railway construction. The Narsdorf station was therefore built on the corridor border between Narsdorf and Dölitzsch . The station was opened on April 8, 1872 together with the Neukieritzsch – Chemnitz and Rochlitz – Penig lines, which crossed at the station. As a result, Narsdorf station was of greater operational importance from the start. This increased with the opening of the Glauchau – Wurzen railway in the Zwickauer Mulde valley in 1876, which also connected the Rochlitz and Penig stations . Furthermore, the trains of the trains opened in 1901 on the Altenburg – Langenleuba-Oberhain line to Narsdorf were tied through.

The station had 14 tracks. In addition to the large station building, the high-rise buildings included a railway maintenance office, engine shed, coal shed, water station, several signal boxes and a siding of the BHG with a striking tower. After the Second World War , only the section between Narsdorf and Penig ran on the Rochlitz – Narsdorf railway line from August 19, 1947; the section between Rochlitz and Narsdorf had been dismantled. The line was rebuilt by 1965 and initially used exclusively for freight trains and empty locomotive runs before passenger traffic was resumed in the summer of 1969.

After the economic changes caused by the fall of 1989/90, the importance of the station decreased enormously. Rail traffic on the branch lines departing from Narsdorf was discontinued at the following times:

  • May 26, 1990: Narsdorf – Penig section
  • June 2, 1998: the Ehrenhain – Langenleuba-Oberhain section of the Altenburg – Langenleuba-Oberhain railway line that was tied through to Narsdorf
  • May 2, 2000: Rochlitz – Penig section

After the complete dismantling of almost all tracks, Narsdorf is now just a simple stop on the Neukieritzsch-Chemnitz railway line, where the trains on the Leipzig-Bad Lausick-Geithain-Chemnitz route stop. The station building, the former boiler house and other buildings for freight traffic are empty today and are increasingly falling into disrepair.

The newly designed Narsdorf stop was moved a few meters to the southwest near the level crossing with the federal highway 175 . The platform has a height of 55 centimeters and a length of 170 meters. There are some parking spaces for parking and traveling .

In January 2005, Deutsche Regionalisenbahn was able to secure a route security agreement from Netz AG of DB for the Muldentalbahn and for the Narsdorf – Rochlitz line, which prevents a possible de-dedication for the time being. At regional conferences, the majority of representatives from the region spoke out in favor of maintaining the routes, but restricted them from doing so only within their financial means. Despite verbal assurances of support, the further deterioration of the routes could not be prevented. This is also because in 2008 the part of the transport association Mittelsachsen the need for the appointment of regional rail services based so that a restart of the train service is seen as unnecessary.
