The district Eilenburg was on 17 May 1990 to 1 August 1994, a district in the Free State of Saxony .
history
The district of Eilenburg was created on May 17, 1990 by a law from the district of Eilenburg . During the district reform on August 1, 1994 , the district was dissolved and largely incorporated into the new Delitzsch district, which in turn was incorporated into the Northern Saxony district after the district reform on August 1, 2008. The communities Audenhain and Mockrehna , on the other hand, came to the new Torgau-Oschatz district . The last meeting of the Eilenburg district assembly took place on May 27, 1994.

On October 3, 1990, the population of the district of Eilenburg was a good 50,220. The proportion of the female population at around 26,000 slightly outweighed the male proportion, which was around 24,500. At the end of 1993 the resident population was only 48,877.

Territorial changes
The number of municipalities decreased from 31 to 27.
- Dissolution of the community of Wellaune - incorporation into Bad Düben (December 20, 1992)
- Merger of the municipalities of Gotha , Jesewitz, Liemehna and Pehritzsch to form the new municipality of Jesewitz (March 1, 1994)
traffic
In addition to the federal highways 2 , 87 , 107 and 183 , the Leipzig – Eilenburg and Halle – Cottbus , Pretzsch – Eilenburg and Wurzen – Eilenburg railway lines ran through the district . In 1990 there were twelve passenger stations within the boundaries of the Eilenburg district. The Eilenburg station was a stop for express trains and later interregional trains.
