Schöna is a district of the municipality Mockrehna in the district of North Saxony in ( Saxony ). To avoid confusion, the place is often added at Eilenburg .

The place Schöna is located south of the main town Mockrehna on the state road 20 and the county road 8903 in the area between Eilenburg and Torgau . The federal highway 87 and the Halle – Cottbus railway line run north of the village . Beyond the railway line, the Dübener Heide nature park begins . In terms of the type of settlement, Schöna is a square village .

history

Schöna was first mentioned in a document as Sconowe in 1201 . The name probably means beautiful floodplain . Schöna has been part of the Mockrehna community since 1999.

The Schöna volunteer fire brigade has existed since 1901, a brass band since 1961 and a biker club called "Saxon Touring Drivers" since 1991.
