history
Doberschütz is first mentioned in a document in 1314, the Battaune district as early as 1000. As can be seen from the names, the places are all of Sorbian origin. Until 1815, Doberschütz belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Eilenburg . The Doberschütz forest was divided. While the western part also belonged to the Eilenburg Office, the eastern part was in the Torgau Office . As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , Doberschütz came to Prussia in 1815 and was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony in 1816, to which the place belonged until 1952. The western part of the Doberschützer Forst was also connected to the Prussian district of Delitzsch, the eastern part came to the Prussian district of Torgau .
In the course of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, Doberschütz was attached to the Eilenburg district in the Leipzig district , which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 . The communities Battaune, Doberschütz, Mörtitz, Paschwitz, Sprotta and Wöllnau merged on January 1, 1996 to form the municipality Doberschütz.
