Economy and Transport
The district of Sebnitz was off the major road and rail routes. The formerly intensive linen house weaving became extinct with the advent of machine production in the 19th century. It was replaced by the production of artificial flowers . The VEB artificial flower Sebnitz was the largest and best-known manufacturers. The industry of the city of Sebnitz produced knives, precision mechanics, plastic and wood products, cardboard boxes, textiles and - as in Neustadt - agricultural machinery. Tourism in the south of the district was of great economic importance.
License Plate
Motor vehicles (with the exception of motorcycles) and trailers were assigned three-letter distinctive signs starting with the letter pair RX from around 1974 to the end of 1990 . The last number plate series used for motorcycles was YU 60-01 to YU 99-99 .
At the beginning of 1991 the district received the distinctive sign SEB . It was issued until July 31, 1994. It has been available in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district since November 12, 2012 .
