Gotha is a district of the community Jesewitz in the district of North Saxony in Saxony . The place is not to be confused with the city of Gotha in Thuringia .

history
Gotha is mentioned in a document as Gath in 1400 . Until 1402 the place belonged to the rule Eilenburg , which later became the Eilenburg office in the Leipzig district of the Electorate of Saxony . With the Congress of Vienna , the previously Saxon town became Prussian in 1815 and part of the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony .
On July 1, 1950, Gostemitz were incorporated into Gotha and Kossen to Groitzsch . Groitzsch came to Gotha on October 1, 1972, which was incorporated into Jesewitz on March 1, 1994.
In the course of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, Gotha was attached to the Eilenburg district in the Leipzig district , which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 . Since 1990 Gotha has belonged to the Free State of Saxony again.

Attractions
- The Gotha manor house is now known as a castle . It was built in the 18th century and rebuilt in 1928. A daycare center was located in it . The castle has returned to private ownership.
