Gallen is a district of the community Jesewitz in the district of North Saxony , Saxony .

The place is north of the main town Jesewitz and about three kilometers south of Kospa (large district town of Eilenburg ). There are no classified roads through the village. There is another village pond in the middle of the village .

history

The first mention of the place was made as Galin in 1350. The standing on the Lerchenberg windmill dates back to 1937. Until 1815 belonged Gallen exclave in office Eilenburg for office Wurzen the pen Office Wurzen under electoral Saxon or royal-Saxon supremacy. As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , the place and its surrounding area became part of Prussia and in 1816 was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony , to which it belonged until 1952.

In the course of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, Gallen was attached to the Eilenburg district in the Leipzig district , which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 . On January 1, 1974, it was incorporated into Liemehna, which on March 1, 1994 became part of the newly formed community of Jesewitz.

Others

There is an association in Gallen that has taken over the community center and is gradually refurbishing and redesigning it. The community center can be used for events. Celebrations also take place there regularly.

The volunteer fire brigade of Gallen is located directly on the village pond . Outside the village are the Kalbisdorf ponds .
