The district of Werdau existed from May 17, 1990 to August 1, 1994 in the Free State of Saxony .
history
The district of Werdau was created on May 17, 1990 by a law from the district of Werdau . During the district reform on August 1, 1994 , it was transferred to the new Zwickauer Land district .

The district was between Thuringia and Zwickau on the Pleiße .

The number of parishes decreased from 19 to 12.
- Dissolution of the communities of Blankenhain , Langenreinsdorf and Mannichswalde - incorporation into Crimmitschau (January 1, 1994)
- Merger of the municipalities of Langenbernsdorf and Trünzig to form the new municipality of Langenbernsdorf (January 1, 1994)
- Dissolution of the communities of Beiersdorf and Gospersgrün - incorporation into Ruppertsgrün (January 1, 1994)
- Merger of the municipalities of Langenbernsdorf and Niederalbertsdorf to form the new municipality of Langenbernsdorf (March 1, 1994)

In addition to the Bundesautobahn 4 and Bundesstraße 175 , the Leipzig-Hof , Dresden-Werdau and Werdau-Mehltheuer railway lines ran through the district . The license plate WDA has been available in the district of Zwickau since November 9, 2012 due to the license plate liberalization .
