history

The place name Linda probably testifies to a linden forest that was cleared for the construction of the place. It is assumed that around 1100 settlers from Franconia set out to clear the forest. Linda could also have been created during this time. The place was created as a forest hoof village. In 1538 the current linden pond was laid out by the knight Georg von Rüdigsdorf. Linda was in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Borna until 1856 . The jurisdiction over the place lay with the Sahlis manor . From 1856 Linda belonged to the Frohburg court office and from 1875 to the Rochlitz administration . On July 1, 1950, it was incorporated into Jahnshain and assigned to the Rochlitz district . With the second district reform in the GDR, Linda came with Jahnshain to the Geithain district in the Leipzig district in 1952 , which was added to the Leipziger Land district in 1994 .

With the incorporation of Jahnshain in 1999, Linda became a part of Kohren-Sahlis. In 2003 the Paul-Barth-Brücke was rebuilt.

Since January 1st, 2018 the place belongs to the city of Frohburg.

Mill museum Lindigtmühle

The Lindenvorwerk has been a tourist magnet, especially since the early 1990s. There are mostly day trippers, a restaurant with a long tradition, the Lindenteich for canoeing and pedal boating, and the Lindigtmühle, which has been free to visit since June 1999. The historic water mill was built in 1524 and has an overshot water wheel that drives the mill technology with a shotgun and oat crusher. The mill, which was restored between 1994 and 1998, is fully functional. In recent years, a mini golf course and a playground were added. Since April 2006, the “Maze of the Senses” has also been attracting visitors.
