The Irish League 1919/20 was the 26th season of the highest all-Irish football league . During the past four years, the championship was officially suspended because of the First World War .

Belfast Celtic became champions for the third time. However, the club withdrew from the Irish League after the violent incidents in the semi-finals of the Irish Cup.

Eight teams played against each other twice on a total of 14 match days, divided into a first and a second round. The two Dublin clubs Bohemians and Shelbourne then competed in the League of Ireland .
