The Irish League 1990/91 was the 90th season of the highest Northern Irish football league . Defending champions Portadown FC became champions for the second time.

The league was increased to 16 clubs. The newbies Ballyclare Comrades and Omagh Town joined the fourteen teams from the previous season. They played against each other twice on a total of 30 match days.
