Christian Rhys Doidge (born August 25, 1992 in Newport ) is a Welsh football player who is under contract with Hibernian Edinburgh in Scotland.

Career

Christian Doidge began his career in the youth teams of the English professional clubs Southampton FC and Bristol Rovers . After three years in Southampton from 2003 to 2006, he then worked in Bristol for two years. When he was 15 he went back to Wales.

Doidge signed for the Welsh second division club Cwmbran Celtic for the 2009/10 season after he was Without Club on his return from England. A year later he moved to AFC Croesyceiliog . In November 2011, he moved to the first division club Barry Town United . Two years later, Doidge moved to Carmarthen Town within Wales . With the club he won the Welsh League Cup .

After a successful trial session, the striker signed a two-year contract with English fourth division club Dagenham & Redbridge in August 2014 . After an ankle injury, he came to his first appearance for his new club against Cheltenham Town in League Two in September . In his fourth league game against Luton Town in October, he scored his first goal. In the second half of the season Doidge was loaned to Dartford FC in the National League . In the 2015/16 season he was a regular at Dagenham & Redbridge and the top goalscorer within the team with eight goals. The club rose at the end of the season as penultimate. He was voted Player of the Year by the fans and the club.

Doidge then moved to the ambitious fifth division team Forest Green Rovers in June 2016 , with whom he made the leap into League Two in the first year. In three seasons, the striker was very accurate and scored 59 goals in 107 games. From August to January 2019 he was awarded for six months to the second division side Bolton Wanderers .

In June 2019 he moved to Scottish first division club Hibernian Edinburgh for a fee of £ 250,000 .
