Lyndon Dykes (born October 7, 1995 in Gold Coast ) is an Australian - Scottish football player who is under contract with the Queens Park Rangers .

Career

Lyndon Dykes was born to Scottish parents from Dumfries in the Gold Coast , Queensland , Australia . Dykes spent part of his youth in Canberra playing rugby . He started playing football in Gold Coast at Mudgeeraba SC from the district of the same name. He then played for Merrimac FC. Dykes was in Scotland between 2014 and 2015. In his parents' hometown, he played for a year in the U-20 team of Queen of the South . From 2015 the striker played again in Australia: first for Redlands United, then for Gold Coast City and Surfers Paradise Apollo SC.

On June 7, 2016 Dykes returned to Scotland again and signed a contract with the second division club Queen of the South. On July 16, 2016, at the age of 20, he made his professional debut in a 2-0 win in the Scottish League Cup against FC Queen's Park . In December, his contract was prematurely extended to 2019. By the time the contract expired, he had played 86 league games and scored 10 league goals. In 31 cup games, he scored nine times for the Doonhamers.

On January 30, 2019, Livingston FC secured Dykes with a two-year contract, which was loaned back to Queen of the South until the end of the season. On September 12, 2019, he prematurely extended his contract in Livingston to May 2022. On December 21, 2019, he scored a hat trick in a 4-0 win over Ross County , the first time a Livingston player had done this in the top division in Scotland had succeeded.

In August 2020, he moved out of his contract with Livingston prematurely for a transfer fee of two million pounds and moved to the Queens Park Rangers in the English second division.
