The Scottish Football League Division One was played for the 40th time in 1932/33 . It was also the 43rd edition of the highest soccer division within the Scottish Football League in which the Scottish champions were determined. It began on August 13, 1932 and ended on April 29, 1933. In the 1932/33 season, 20 clubs competed against each other in a total of 38 matchdays. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the goal quotient counted .
The championship was won by the Glasgow Rangers for the 20th time in their club history . Greenock Morton and East Stirlingshire FC were relegated to Division Two at the end of the season . The top scorer was Willie MacFadyen of FC Motherwell with 45 goals .
