Sam Cosgrove (born December 2, 1996 in Beverley ) is an English football player who plays for FC Aberdeen .

Career

Sam Cosgrove was born in Beverley in 1996, 8 miles north of Kingston upon Hull . He began his career at Everton and Wigan Athletic . In Wigan he was under contract as a professional from 2014 to 2017. During this time the young striker was loaned to the lower class English clubs AFC Barrow , FC Chorley and North Ferriby United . For the team from Wigan, he completed a competitive game in the Football League Trophy for the first team in August 2016 . In August 2017, Cosgrove moved to Carlisle United in the English fourth division. In February 2018 he moved to the Scottish first division club FC Aberdeen . He made his debut for the Dons on February 25, 2018 against Celtic Glasgow . After his substitution in the 76th minute for Stevie May , he saw the red card eight minutes later .
