Scott McKenna (born November 12, 1996 in Kirriemuir ) is a Scottish football player who plays for Aberdeen FC .

Career

Scott McKenna was born in 1996 in Kirriemuir , a town in the Angus region of Scotland. He began his career in the youth of Aberdeen FC . Even before he made his debut in the professional team of the Dons , McKenna was loaned to the Scottish third division club Ayr United from February to May 2015 . For the club he completed 12 games in the Scottish League One . In January 2016 McKenna played three times for second division Alloa Athletic during a monthly loan . After returning to Aberdeen, the center-back made his first-team debut in February 2016. The 19-year-old made his debut against FC St. Johnstone when he came on for Simon Church in the 88th minute . On the last two match days of the 2015/16 season he was in the starting line-up against Heart of Midlothian and Ross County .

National team

Scott McKenna played fourteen games for the Scottish U-19s between 2013 and 2015 . He made his debut for the team on October 12, 2013 against Belarus and last played for them on March 31, 2015 against Croatia . On September 5, 2017 he made his U-21 debut against the Netherlands . In March 2018 McKenna was first in the cadre of senior team appointed by Scotland. The new national coach Alex McLeish nominated him for the internationals against Costa Rica and Hungary . He made his international debut against Costa Rica.
