Ryan Peter Hedges (born July 8, 1995 in Northampton ) is a Welsh football player who is under contract with FC Aberdeen in Scotland.
Career
society
Ryan Hedges was born in Northampton, England, about 100 kilometers north of London. As an eight year old he came to Liverpool to play for the local Everton FC in the youth academy. After seven years, he left the club in 2010 for Wales. There he played for the next three years in the youth of the Welsh second division club Flint Town United . In July 2013, Hedges signed a contract with Swansea City .
In January 2015 Hedges was awarded to the English third division club Leyton Orient . He played his first professional game on loan after appearing against Colchester United on January 24, 2015 . By the end of the season he had 17 league games and two goals. As the bottom of the table, the club rose to the fourth division.
Another loan from Hedges to Stevenage FC followed from February to March 2016 . For the English fourth division side he remained goalless in six games.
Hedges was awarded to Yeovil Town in the second half of the year . Here he was able to convince with good performances, whereupon the second division FC Barnsley bought him out of his contract in Swansea. In the 2017/18 season he was relegated to the third division with the club. In the following year , under the German coach Daniel Stendel, the direct rise as runner-up behind Luton Town succeeded . After not renewing his expiring contract after three years in Barnsley, he moved to Aberdeen FC in June 2019 .
National team
After moving to Wales , Hedges played for the country's junior teams from 2013. There he played in the U19 and U21 national teams until 2016 . He made his debut for the senior national team on November 14, 2017 as a substitute for Ben Woodburn at a 1: 1 draw against Panama in Cardiff .
