Dylan McGeouch (born January 15, 1993 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish football player . The midfielder plays for Aberdeen FC . His older brother Darren is also a professional footballer.

Career

Dylan McGeouch was born in the Scottish capital, Glasgow , and grew up in Milton . At the age of twelve, McGeouch began his career with Celtic Glasgow ; changed during his youth, however, to the arch-rivals of Celtic, the Rangers . After three years, McGeouch returned to the Bhoys . He made his debut for Celtic after his return in 2011 at the age of 18 in the league game against FC Motherwell after being substituted on for James Forrest . In his second game, after a sensational solo run, he scored the first goal as a professional and was chosen by the fans as the Celtic Goal of the 2011/12 season . At the end of the season he was able to win the championship with Celtic and repeat it in the following season 2012/13 . During the preparation for the 2012/13 season, the midfielder broke his jaw in a friendly against Real Madrid in a duel with Nuri Şahin and remained unconscious for minutes. In January 2014 he was awarded to the English second division club Coventry City . In September 2014 it was awarded to the Scottish second division club Hibernian Edinburgh . In August 2015, McGeouch was signed by the Hibs and signed a three-year contract in Edinburgh . After the contract expired he moved to AFC Sunderland in England. In January 2020 he moved back to Scotland and signed a contract with FC Aberdeen until 2022 .

National team

Dylan McGeouch has played for Scotland since 2008. Initially eligible to play in the U-16 and U-17 junior national teams , he was used in the U-19 from 2010 to 2011. In April 2012, McGeouch made his debut in Scotland's U-21s in a 4-1 home loss to Italy . In March 2018 McGeouch was first in the cadre of senior team appointed by Scotland. The new national coach Alex McLeish nominated him for the internationals against Costa Rica and Hungary . He made his debut two months later in Lima against Peru .
