Tobias Broeker
Tobias Bröker (born November 8, 1976 in Gronau ) is a German classical music researcher and publisher.
biography
Tobias Bröker began researching compositions for solo violin and orchestra in the 20th century around 2000. In the following years he built up one of the most extensive sound archives on this topic. The results of this research resulted in the publication of the lexicon The 20th century violin concertante in 2014 . The book was published in electronic form only and was included in the international RILM Music Encyclopedias in 2018 .
In addition, Tobias Bröker publishes sheet music from (mainly violin) compositions that have so far been ignored or overlooked and only existed as manuscripts. Such publications were made in cooperation with national and state libraries such as the Bavarian State Library , the Saxon State and University Library in Dresden , the Baden State Library or the Széchényi National Library and led to the first publications of violin concertos by Josef Schelb , Siegfried Geißler , Carlos Veerhoff and Albert Siklós . In addition, Tobias Bröker's archive contains various autograph sheet music manuscripts such as the musical legacies of Claude Pascal , Ernst Riemann , Phyllis Gummer , Adolf Sigmundt , Helmut May and Erich Keller , an extensive partial estate by Carlos Veerhoff and many other individual autographs by various composers . Cooperations also include the publication of works by contemporary composers such as Karen De Pastel , Wolfgang Gabriel , Karim Elmahmoudi , Alla Penkina , Tome Mančev , Daniel Felsenfeld , Riccardo Riccardi and Tison Street .
In 2016 Tobias Bröker discovered that the violin concerto by Tristan Foison is identical to the Symphonie concertante pour violon et orchester by the French composer Raymond Gallois-Montbrun .
Tobias Bröker is also the dedicatee of the revised version of the violin concerto by the Australian composer Barry McKimm , the violin concerto No. 3 by the Finnish composer Eero Järvilehto and the composition Visions du Mont Fuji, pour violon et piano by the French composer Colette Mourey .
In addition to his musical research, Tobias Bröker studied special education and is currently working as a special needs teacher in a school in Stuttgart.
