Aulin Gate
Tor Aulin ( pronunciation : [ ˌtuːɹ ɑu̯ˈliːn ], born September 10, 1866 in Stockholm , † March 1, 1914 in Saltsjöbaden ) was a Swedish composer .
He studied from 1877 to 1883 at the Stockholm Conservatory and from 1884 to 1886 in Berlin with Émile Sauret and Philipp Scharwenka . From 1889 to 1902 he was concertmaster at the Royal Opera in Stockholm, then conductor of the Stockholm Concert Society and, from 1909, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra . The string quartet Aulin , founded by him in 1887, enjoyed a great reputation .
Aulin composed in addition to numerous small works for the violin a violin sonata, three violin concertos and orchestra - Suite .
