André David
André David (born February 2, 1922 in Algiers , † June 5, 2007 in Paris ) was a French composer.
Life
David studied both music at the Montpellier Conservatory and medicine at the University of Paris . His main composition teachers were Maurice Le Boucher in Montpellier and Noël Gallon in Paris.
David composed piano and chamber music, songs, symphonic works and a cantata. His opera Rodolphe, based on a libretto by Jacques Grasswill , premiered at the 2002 Festival des Coréades in Poitou-Charentes under the direction of Jean-Yves Gaudin .
