Noël Gallon (born September 11, 1891 in Paris ; † December 26, 1966 there ) was a French composer and composition teacher.

Life

Noël Gallon studied like his brother Jean Gallon at the Paris Conservatory . In 1910 he won the Prix ​​de Rome with the cantata Acis et Galathée . From 1920 he was solfège - and from 1926 counterpoint teacher at the conservatory. His students included well-known composers such as Maurice Duruflé , Olivier Messiaen , Henri Dutilleux , Gerd Boder and Tony Aubin .

Gallon composed a lyric drama ( Paysans et Soldats , 1911), an orchestral suite , a fantasy for piano and orchestra, a sonata for flute and bassoon, ten preludes and a toccata for piano, choirs and songs.
