Hatem Abd Elhamed (born March 18, 1991 in Kafr Manda ) is an Arab-Israeli football player . He is under contract with the Scottish club Celtic Glasgow and is a national player for Israel .
Career
society
Hatem Abd Elhamed joined FC Bnei Sachnin in 2007 as a 16-year-old for whom he spent the next two years in the club's youth team. In 2009 he switched to Maccabi Tel Aviv during his youth . There he played another year in his youth before getting his first professional contract. The defender made his professional debut on August 8, 2010 against his former club Bnei Sachnin in the League Cup . On February 1, 2011, Abd Elhamid was loaned out to Belgium to Sporting Charleroi . A month later he played his only game for Charleroi as a substitute in the Pro League against Standard Liège .
After his loan, he signed the MS Ashdod in July 2011 . He stayed there for the next four years. He was set as a regular player for the Israeli first division team in every season. From January to May 2015 he was loaned to Dinamo Bucharest in Romania . He was used in 13 of 17 possible league games in the return series in the 2014/15 season . He scored three goals as a defensive player. In July 2015, he moved to KAA Gent for a transfer fee of one million euros . After he was only used once for the club, he was awarded to his old club MS Ashdod. Here he came as a regular player at the Israeli club on his minutes. After the loan and without another game for Gent, Abd Elhamed moved to reigning Israeli champions Hapoel Be'er Scheva for a transfer . With the club he was able to successfully defend the title from the previous season in the 2017/18 season. Be'er Scheva provided the best defense, which Abd Elhamed played a major role as a central defender.
In July 2019, Celtic Glasgow signed Abd Elhamed and provided him with a four-year contract. He made his debut on matchday 1 of the 2019/20 season in a 7-0 home win over FC St. Johnstone at Celtic Park .
National team
Abd Elhamed was active in the junior national teams of the Israeli U-18 and U-19 from 2009 . On June 10, 2019 central defender made his debut under the Austrian coach Andy Herzog in the senior team . He came on as a substitute for his club colleague from Celtic Nir Biton in the 82nd minute of play in the European Championship qualifier against Poland .
