Nir Bitton (born October 30, 1991 in Ashdod ) is an Israeli football player . He is under contract with the Scottish club Celtic Glasgow .

Career

society

Bitton made his debut at the end of the 2008/09 season in the Ligat ha'Al for his youth club FC Ashdod . His appearance under coach Yossi Mizrahi against Beitar Jerusalem should remain the only one this season. From the following season 2009/10 he fought for a regular place in midfield of FC Ashdod. After five seasons with the club from the Mediterranean city , Bitton changed the club. He signed a four-year deal with Celtic Glasgow after he was bought out of his contract with FC Ashdod by the Premiership club.

National team

After his debut in the Israeli U-17 youth national team in 2008, further games for Israel in the U-18 and U-19 followed the following year. Since 2010, Bitton has been an integral part of the Israeli U-21 national team. He led this as team captain at the U-21 European Football Championship 2013 , which was held in his own country. In addition to his debut in the U-21s, the defensive midfielder should also make his first appearance in the A-Eleven in 2010 . He made his debut at the Banco República Cup at the Estadio Centenario of Montevideo against the hosts ; the game ended 1-1.
