The MS Ashdod ( Hebrew מועדון ספורט אשדוד) is an Israeli football club from Ashdod . He currently plays in the top division of Israel , the Ligat ha'Al . The club colors are yellow and red.

General

The association was founded in 1999 as a merger of the two Ashdod associations Hapoel Aschdod and Maccabi Ironi Aschdod . In the first year after it was founded, the club's color was still blue. A year later, the club colors yellow (for Maccabi) and red (for Hapoel) were chosen. Initially, the club was not very successful, until they reached third place in the league in the 2004/05 season and only lost on penalties in the cup final. In the 2005/06 season, the club played in the UEFA Cup , but had to admit defeat to the Slovenian representative.
