The HaYud Alef Stadium ( Hebrew אצטדיון היוד אלף) is a football stadium in the Israeli city of Ashdod .
The soccer clubs Moadon Sports Ashdod and Maccabi Ironi Ashdod use the facility for their home games. The opening took place in 1966. The stadium holds 7,800 spectators.
The name of the stadium ( German "Stadion der Elf" ), which was given in 1972, refers to the eleven athletes who were murdered when Munich was taken hostage .
