The HaMoshava Stadium ( Hebrew אצטדיון המושבה, roughly Colony Stadium ) is a football stadium in Petach Tikwa, Israel .

history

HaMoshava Stadium, December 2011

Since its opening in December 2011, it has been the home of the Israeli soccer clubs Hapoel Petach Tikwa and Maccabi Petach Tikwa , which previously played in the Petach Tikwa Municipal Stadium. When it opened, the stadium had a capacity of 11,500 seats; in further expansion stages, the capacity is to be expanded to 16,000 to 20,000 seats.

The Israeli architecture firm GAB (Goldschmidt Arditty Ben Nayin) is responsible for the architecture of the stadium. The company is also responsible for the renovation of the Netanya Stadium . The construction costs are estimated at 36 million euros .

The fans of Hapoel Petach Tikwa started a petition in 2010 so that the stadium should be named after the former player and coach Nahum Stlmach, who died in 1999. Maccabi Petach Tikwa supporters called for the stadium to be named after Shmuel Ben Dror, the former Maccabi captain and captain of the Israeli national team . The mayor of the city refused.
